Hello Seniors !!!
You are about to begin one of
the most memorable and significant years of your life. Here are
some helpful guidelines:
1. Work
hard your senior year. The best grades on your transcript should
be this years. Don't get senioritis.
2. Make
sure you have a schedule of courses that is going to prepare you for
your future. Strength of schedule is a factor with scholarship
committees.
3. Use
the first semester constructively:
a) Do some college or school searches on the
internet or at the library.
b) Begin searching for scholarships and learn how to enhance
your application
c) Develop a resume.
d) Write your admissions essay or personal statement.
e) Begin asking for letters of recommendation.
f) Check college admission requirements, deadlines for application and
if school requires a CSS Profile.
g) Establish a good rapport with your senior counselor and registrar.
h)
Find out how your school announces which scholarship applications are
available and when the college recruiters are visiting the school.
i) Go visit the Bridges Project for Education
office.
) Work and save money for college
k) Do some positive self-development.
l) A successful senior year won't happen by accident, YOU
HAVE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!
